At this week’s Knoxville City Council meeting, after hearing three proposals from three different firms, the council voted to approve contractor Jim Bergman, to allow his firm to apply for a section 42 housing development project proposed for Knoxville. City Manager Harold Stewart tells KNIA KRLS News that the possible areas for development are off Willett’s Drive, near the VA campus, or behind Walmart. He says Bergman is working to acquire one of the properties currently, and Stewart expects to know more within a week or two.
