Drought Monitor 11-9

The latest Drought Monitor shows a slow improvement in conditions across the state. While a little less than 2% of the state’s surface area is suffering from extreme drought conditions, Marion, Mahaska, and Jasper counties all remain in the 25.5% of Iowa that falls into the moderate drought category. 39% of the state is suffering severe drought, and 20.5% is abnormally dry. Just over 11% of the state is no longer suffering any drought conditions at all.
