Pella Christian’s girls’ basketball team moved to 2 – 0 on the year with a three-point win over Albia last night, 47 – 44. The Eagles were down for several moments in the fourth quarter before climbing back ahead and hanging on. Coach Kevin Van Maanen says his team was a little lax on defense and seemed to rush things on offense in the early going. Lauren Jungling again led in points for the Eagles with 18 points, including five made shots from beyond the arc. Freshman Brooke Mitrisin had ten points, making some big shots down the stretch. Pella Christian is off the rest of the week and are back at it on Tuesday against Eddyville-Blakesburg.
