Injuries hurt the Pella High football team at the end of their season, but they also had a direct effect on the boys’ basketball team, at least early on. Nathan Clayberg is in a boot battling issues with his foot, his brother Noah had a dislocated elbow and is going through physical therapy, Austin Schulte broke his hand, and Trevor Argo is still recovering from a broken collarbone. Coach Mark Core says that’s just the nature of the beast. The status of the injured players remains unknown heading into the boys’ basketball season; some are expected to return after the Christmas break in January, while others are still a question mark. Pella will begin their season officially on Tuesday against Carlisle.
