Five area athletes will get to run one final cross-country race of their high school careers in the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Senior All-Star meet this Saturday at the DMACC course in Ankeny. Knoxville’s Jordan Angove, Brad Shearer, and Courtney Hughs ,along with Pella runners Jordan Pingel and Sydney Swanson will represent the Southeast Team. Knoxville Coach Mike Moats tells KNIA/KRLS the teams are broken into four regions in Iowa and both Knoxville and Pella can compete on the same team. Moats adds many of the local runners know each other very well and usually are seen after a meet during the season congratulating each other. He says the seniors on this year’s Knoxville squad may have not achieved their goal of getting to the state meet last week, but he was proud of the their leadership.
