Knoxville’s City Council met last night. Topics on the agenda were a public hearing to award contracts for the 2014 community development block grant program and to set a public hearing date for property rezoning. These items passed. The Council heard a section 42 housing proposal presentation by Miller Valentine Group, to build a 36 to 38 unit housing project or a 45 unit senior housing development. The Council heard proposals from two other developers last week. After discussion, a motion was made to approve one contractor to apply for a housing development contract. The motion passed 4 to 1.
