Knoxville’s School Board met last night. The night began with a special session to review the job description for the superintendent of schools, which included a list of performance standards and district priorities. Dr. Flack recommended hiring a search firm to save time and money, and presented four firms for the board’s consideration. Special session meeting dates are set for November 14 and 20 to hear proposals. The board moved into the regular meeting and discussed the retirement incentive program. It’s been suggested that the incentive should be offered every three years instead of every other, as the cash incentive is paid out over three years. Discussion included limiting the number of retirement applications accepted each year. The agenda will be structured to allow for additional discussion at the next meeting. The next regular meeting is set for Monday, November 25 at 5:30.
