At 1:25 Sunday afternoon, a plane en route from Michigan to Blair, Nebraska was leaking fuel and lost power in one engine. This caused the plane and it’s two occupants to make a precautionary landing at the Pella Airport around 1:30 pm. Shane Vande Voort with the airport says that anytime a precautionary landing is made, the fire department is called. Vande Voort adds that the plane was able to land without major incident, and no injuries were reported. Vande Voort wanted to commend both the Pella Police Department and the Pella Fire and Rescue for their prompt response, and he says everything went exactly the way it’s suppose to in these kind of incidents.
