Judi Van Hulzen, RN with Marion County Public Health says their office often receives increased reports of food-borne illnesses and outbreaks following holidays that involve large family gatherings, such as Thanksgiving. Public Health encourages ill patients to stay home from gatherings, and not to cook for others for at least two days after their illness stops to prevent spreading their illness to family and friends.
