Twin Cedars put up nearly 600 yards of offense, but it was the 292 yards on the ground and eight touchdowns by Adair-Casey’s Clayton Plowman that was too much for the Sabers to overcome as the Bombers defeated Twin Cedars 73-38 in the second round of the eight-man football playoffs last night. Plowman did not take long to make his presence known as he took the opening kickoff back 72 yards for a touchdown. In fact, the Bombers jumped on top of Twin Cedars 21-0 in the first seven minutes of the game and threatened to make it a blowout in the first half. However, the Sabers went to work cutting the lead down to 15 at 33-18 by halftime. The Sabers even had it down to nine points in the third quarter on a score 45 seconds into the third period, but Adair-Casey would outscore the Sabers 40-14 the rest of the way. Twin Cedars Coach Aaron Allspach told KNIA/KRLS Sports he knew there was a chance at halftime to get back in it. Brent Parker had one of the most prolific passing nights ever for Twin Cedars, his aerial assault on the Adair-Casey Bomber Strip went for 542 yards and five touchdowns and ran for the other Sabers score. Twin Cedars was led by Coy Moore with 172 yards on seven receptions. Twin Cedars finishes with a 10-2 record.
