Ending the season with a 35 – 7 loss to St. Albert – Council Bluffs, the Pella Christian football team will depart with some very talented seniors and leaders. A football season at the high school level being only nine weeks, ten or eleven if you’re good enough, the athletes on a team get a small window to bond and get to know each other more. Eagles’ coach, Darryl DeRuiter says he’s going to miss the senior class that’s leaving this football program because of how close they were with one another and how much they enjoyed playing the sport together. DeRuiter adds that their positive attitude and closeness trickled down to the rest of the team and really brought everyone together as one unit. Pella Christian finished with a 4 – 6 record.
