Friday morning at Knoxville’s Graceland Cemetery, 200 flags were raised in honor of area veterans. Approximately 40 veterans, boy scouts and spectators were in attendance at the event, that marked the beginning of Veterans Day honors in Marion County. There was a volley of three and Taps was played to mark the occasion. A brief ceremony was held at the veteran’s plot immediately following, and a breakfast was held at the VFW in honor of Marion County veterans. The Avenue of Flags will remain in place until Tuesday at 3.
