At approximately 1:45 pm Saturday afternoon, Jasper County Communications received a 911 call indicating that a woman was being held against her will at 11010 S. 100th Avenue in Sully. Deputies responded to the scene and found a female victim outside of the residence who appeared to have been assaulted. The victim’s husband, William Sanders, was found inside passed out on the floor, and the female indicated that he had assaulted her with a firearm. The female was transported to the hospital and treated for her injuries. William Sanders was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Jail where he was charged with willful injury and possession of firearms by a felon, both Class D felonies. Sanders bonded out of jail and is still out on bond. The Jasper County Sheriff’s office is continuing the investigation and additional charges are pending.
