Two ranked girls’ basketball teams do battle this evening when Pella High invades the gym of Bondurant-Farrar. The Bluejays are ranked second in the state in Class 3A and are led by the Atzen sisters, Lexi and Madi. Ashley Burrows leads the team in scoring with just over 12 per game. The Bluejays are also a perfect 7 – 0 entering play today. On the boys’ side, both teams return several players from last year when these two squads met up in the first round of the Class 3A district tournament. Pella is in the middle of a tough road trip; they beat Fairfield on Saturday, and after tonight’s game, they’ll prepare for another challenge in Grinnell.
