For only the second time this season, the Central women’s basketball team tasted defeat, this time at the hands of Augustana, 56 – 53. The two teams traded leads throughout the contest; there were a total of 11 lead changes in the game, all of which came in the second half. Despite going 19-for-23 from the free throw line, the Dutch could only make 35% of their shots, compared to 43% for the Vikings. Kaitlin Stump again led all scorers, coming off the bench to score 14, and Kenzie Vander Molen had 12. The Dutch are now 0 – 2 when they fail to reach 60 points, and drop to 7 – 2 on the season. They’ll join the men for one last non-conference road trip before 2014’s Iowa Conference schedule starts up, when they go to Puerto Rico for a pair of games.
