Following a pair of big losses to Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday, Pella Christian’s ball clubs regained their footing over the weekend, winning a pair of games on Saturday. The Eagles’ girls defeated Roland-Story, 48 – 36. Tessa Howerzyl dumped in a game-high 16 points while Brooke Mitrisin and Lauren Jungling each added ten points. Coach Kevin Van Maanen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that it was a good bounce back for his girls. Down in Washington, the Eagles’ boys took care of the Demons in a close affair, 61 – 57. The game was tied down the stretch of the fourth quarter, but Pella Christian hit a big bucket and some clutch free throws to seal the win. The Pella Christian girls are now 3 – 2 on the season, while the boys improve to 2 – 1, and they are each back in action tonight on the road against PCM. You can hear the game live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com. Cory Houser and Wynne Veenstra have the Pella Christian call on the air and online, while Kris Krug and Brian Hazelton are streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com. Pregame coverage starts after Focus on the Family at 6:00 p.m.
