The benefit of playing in several sports in a small school like Twin Cedars is the fact that you have almost the same teammates in each sport. For the seniors on this year’s Sabers’ boys’ basketball, they have created almost a “family atmosphere” among the players, because of how long and how often they have played together. Coach Alan Stewart says this season’s “motto” is all about being a family and honoring the memory of their fallen brother, Derek Springer. Coach Stewart says that Derek’s brother, Dylan, has done a formidable job so far in replacement in the post, scoring in double digits in their jamboree earlier last week. The Sabers open up the season on Tuesday against Wayne.
