A 16-4 run in the fourth quarter by Newton blew open a tight game and the Cardinals defeated the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad 60-47 last night. The panthers struggled with foul trouble all game long and were forced into 22 turnovers while being outrebounded 33-22. Knoxville is now 5-2 on the season and 2-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The boys allowed nine three point shots by Newton and fell 78-64 last night. One bright spot for the Panthers was Nathan Winters who had 19 points and proved nearly unstoppable in the paint.
