They fought hard against Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday in a pair of losses, but Saturday, the Pella High basketball teams swept Fairfield in non-conference play. The Lady Dutch won in overtime, 62 – 58, and Pella’s boys prevailed 68 – 56. The game was tied at 50 heading into the fourth and final period, but the Little Dutch outscored them 18 – 6 for the victory. Isaac Naaktgeboren had a monster game with 20 points and 16 rebounds, and Jordan Pingel threw in 17 points of his own. Pella also only had seven turnovers for the entire game. The girls improve to 4 – 2 overall while the Little Dutch are now 4 – 1. They’ll each stay on the road for a contest this Tuesday at Bondurant-Farrar.
