Two powerhouse schools in the Little Hawkeye Conference do battle this evening in Grinnell, when Pella makes the trek to take on the Tigers. Both of Grinnell’s teams have just one loss on the season and were each ranked in preseason polls. The Tigers’ girls only loss is to Knoxville thus far, and both Pella and Grinnell played each other tight last year, with the Lady Dutch winning both contests. Pella’s girls are looking to rebound from a big loss to Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday. In the boys’ contest, Coach Mark Core says they will have to put out a better effort than they did the last time the two teams met. Grinnell’s boys eventually went on to the state tournament, and only lost Joe Nowasell off of last year’s squad. You can hear tonight’s doubleheader live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Randy Sikkema on the play-by-play. Pregame starts at 6:00 p.m. with tip-off at 6:15.
