Pella Regional recently named Marilou Ozinga, Medical Imaging, their Shining Star. The nomination, submitted by Ozinga’s co-workers, says she is committed to both her work and team, along with being calm and knowledgeable with her patients. Ozinga also made a huge impression with her participation in the recent KNIA/KRLS radiothon held to encourage women to get their annual mammograms. Ozinga was a vital part of the success, as she encouraged radiologists, general surgeons, and other clinicians to share their knowledge. She also gathered a group of patients to share their stories of struggle and survival, and herself was on air numerous times during the four hour program, before spending another 4 hours in Knoxville later in the week for their portion of the Radiothon. Ozinga received a $100 gift, a plaque, and will automatically be included in the Shining Star of the Year award.
