The Pella High boys and girls basketball teams swept the Oskaloosa Indians in dominating fashion on the road Friday night. The girls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they coasted to a 59-19 victory. The Pella girls were led offensively by Mackenzie Gustafson and Jessica Holterhaus, who scored 14 and 13 points respectively. The victory raised the Pella girls’ record to 3-0 on the season. The Pella boys’ team was equally impressive as they took a 17 point halftime lead and doubled that in the second half for a 85-51 win. Jordan Pingel, Issac Naaktgeboren, and Bryce Bortscheller all scored in double digits as the Little Dutch improved to 2-0 with the road victory. Pella will now spend a week at home with both teams hosting first Ballard, and then Little Hawkeye Conference newcomer Dallas Center – Grimes.
