The Pleasantville girls’ and boys’ basketball teams were able to sweep Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday night in non-conference play. The Pleasantville girls’ team started the night off with a thrilling 51-43 overtime victory over the Saints. The Trojans trailed with less than 30 seconds to go when Sophomore Trisha Kunze hit a three pointer to send the game into overtime where they would go on to claim victory. Kunze would finish with 22 points. Head Coach Aaron Fichter was impressed with his team’s will to battle back. The Pleasantville boys’ team improved to 1-0 on the year after taking down the Saints 83-33. Senior Dylan Lauer led all Trojans with 26 points on the night. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams will look for win number two on Thursday when Pleasantville hosts Chariton.
