A year ago, the Central men’s basketball team went nearly a month between the end of their non-conference schedule and the beginning of league play in January of this year. The rust showed, as the Dutch went 3 – 11 in their Iowa conference schedule and losing several close games. This season, Central’s men play in Puerto Rico tomorrow and Sunday, leaving another week-and-a-half for them to prepare for conference action. Coach Craig Douma says it’s a lesson learned from his first year to not have that long of a break, and he hopes this weekend’s action gets them ready for the tough gamut of games ahead of them over the next two months. Central’s men and women are both down in the Caribbean and will each play two games starting tomorrow.
