Twin Cedars and Albia played each other close, but it was the Blue Demons and Lady Dees that ended up on top in the end. The Sabers’ girls fell 40 – 38; Coach Mike Strasko tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that turnovers is what cost them in the end. Brittney Roby had 21 points, Allie Utterback had 11 points and they each collected nine rebounds apiece. For the boys, they battled hard, but fell short, 56 – 51. The Sabers were down by ten late in the second half, but fought back to tie it up with just over 20 seconds left before the Blue Demons hit some free throws to ice it late. Dylan Springer had 19 points and Otis Roby scored 12 to lead Twin Cedars in scoring. Both squads are 3 – 3 heading into their final week of the 2013 portion of their schedule. The Sabers will play Murray this Tuesday.
