Melcher-Dallas’ basketball teams made it two in a row on Saturday night, beating Iowa Christian Academy in a conference doubleheader. The girls’ won 52 – 45 thanks to a 20-point fourth quarter. Senior Maddie Roland led all scorers with 22 points, Jessi Anderson had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Kaylee Houston scored 12. The boys won 62 – 54; Brock Breese had a big night with 23 points, Chase Wetterling was right behind him with 21, and Troy Lee had a near double-double with 12 points and eight steals. Coach Jim Wells tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that it was nice to see Breese have the night he did, because Wetterling and Lee had been the top two early on in the season. The Saints’ girls improve to 2 – 2, the boys are 2 – 1, and they will play in another doubleheader on Tuesday at Grandview Park Baptist.
