Wayne put up a good fight with Pleasantville, as the two teams split their doubleheader yesterday. The Trojans’ girls fell 67 – 54. Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the game was close, but her girls started catching on and getting into a groove just a little too late for them to recover. Kennedy Core bucketed 25 points and Trisha Kunze had 16 to lead Pleasantville. The boys won 60 – 50 over the Falcons; three players had double figures in points, led by Trevor Zoss with 17, Dylan Lauer with 14 and Josh Luna with 13. The loss drops the girls’ record to 1 – 4 and the Trojans’ boys are now 2 – 1. Both teams have a road date with Martensdale – St. Mary’s next on their schedule this Friday.
