Next week, the Marion County Development Commission will announce the winners of the 2013 Best of the Red Rock Area contest. Executive Director Carla Eysink tells KNIA KRLS News that this contest hasn’t been done for a few years, but with changes and improvements in technology, the commission is excited to sponsor the contest to highlight the best Marion County has to offer. She says there are forty categories, and four with a top ten option, including best burger, best hotel, best park and best gift shop, among many others. The award ceremony will be Thursday, January 30 at 4:30 at Central College’s Graham Annex-Sutphen Room in Pella.
