Only having the weekend to recuperate, the Pleasantville basketball teams do battle with Albia tonight in a non-conference doubleheader. Both the Lady Dees and Blue Demons have won ten games this year, and for the Albia girls, that is a big improvement from a team that won just four games a year ago. Coach Aaron Fichter says that Albia is a very physical Class 3A team that will give them a fight. He adds that though his team is just 1 – 10 on the season, their record does not reflect the effort being shown out on the court. The Pleasantville boys are in the midst of a key stretch of contests that determine where they’ll be ranked when the Class 1A district brackets come out in a few weeks. Coach Tom Wilkins says to power through his guys just simply have to play better and harder. Tonight’s game starts with the varsity girls’ contest which tips off at 6:15 p.m.
