Caregiver College Classes Begin This Week In Knoxville

Starting Thursday this week, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, HCI Care Services and Marion County Public Health will be offering a free Family Caregiver College. From 6 to 7 at the Marion County Public Health Offices. Char Yoder, from HCI Care Services says that Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa will present this class, and you’re encouraged to attend if you have questions or concerns about the Affordable Care Act. A free tool kit will be provided, and refreshments will be served.
Other classes offered will include identifying Alzheimers versus Dementia; the importance of advanced directives and preparing for a doctors visit. The classes will be put on by various individuals such as Dr. Bryon Schaeffer and Sandy Opstad, owner of SeniorCare Coordination.
