Drought Monitor 1-23

Over the last week, more than eight percent of the state has regressed, and reentered the abnormally dry distinction on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor. Nearly 85% percent of Iowa still falls into some drought category, with the majority still stuck in the moderate drought classification. The state has still improved greatly over the last year, when 365 days ago, the entire state was suffering at least moderate, if not severe or extreme drought conditions.
