Still riding the high of a pair of close, down-to-the-wire victories over Luther, the Central basketball teams will try to carry that momentum into this afternoon’s affairs with Dubuque. The Spartans’ women have hit the century mark in five of their 12 games this season, and are coming off of a close win themselves over Wartburg on Wednesday. Dubuque also features three players averaging double digits in points for the season. On the men’s side, the Spartans are undefeated through 12 games, but were tested by the Knights earlier this week in their conference opener. Dubuque is averaging better than 30 foul shots per game, and Dutch men’s coach, Craig Douma, says that it’s because the Spartans attack the basket just about every possession. This afternoon’s contests can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with pregame coverage starting at 1:45 p.m. and tip-off of the women’s game at two.
