A pair of chippy games went the way of Loras on Saturday afternoon in Iowa Conference basketball action. Twice the Dutch women were down by double digits in the second half, and twice they came back with chances to tie or take the lead, but the DuHawks held on, 71 – 63. Kenzie Vander Molen scored 21 of her game-high 30 points in the second half to help lead a pair of charges by the Dutch. Central was out-rebounded 37 – 25 and gave up 17 points off of turnovers. Foul calls and shots alike didn’t go the Central men’s way as they dropped in their game to Loras, 70 – 60. Matt Greenfield fouled out and had an overall frustrating night shooting, going 3-for-14 from the field, but finished with a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Central’s men and women drop to 9 – 6 overall, the men are 2 – 2 in league play while the women are 1 – 3. Both squads come home for a bout with Simpson this Wednesday.
