The first thing Kevin Van Maanen, head coach of Pella Christian girls’ basketball, told his team when they came back from Christmas break was that they are one of the only teams in the state to play the kind of schedule that they do. The Eagles are in a girls’ conference that is entirely made up of Class 4A schools. Van Maanen also said he told his gals to put the wins and losses out of their mind and just focus on improving themselves. Pella Christian resumes play in four days when they make the short drive to Pella High.
