The Pella Christian boys and girls suffered disappointing losses Friday night as Grinnell came to Marion County and left with a sweep. In the girls’ contest, three Eagles scored in double digits as Brooke Mitrisin, Hannah Beltman, and Tessa Howerzyl had 13, 12, and 10 points respectively. PC trailed just 27-22 at the half, but could not put enough pressure on the Tigers as they slowly pulled away for a 56-46 victory. Grinnell’s boys went nuclear on Pella Christian in the third quarter doubling their first half total, and taking a 54-36 lead into the final period. The end result was a 68-49 victory that improved the Grinnell to 8-2 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 6-7. Both squads now sit at 6-7 with a road trip later today to Des Moines Christian.
