The Knoxville School Board has released the names of the three finalists in the hunt for the new superintendent. Dr. Randy Flack last year submitted his intent to retire at the end of the 2013-2014 school year. The School Board has since received applications for the position, and after review has narrowed the field to three. Interviews will be conducted this week.

Biographies of the Candidates:
CASSANDRA MURRA

A. Currently serving as superintendent at Grundy Center, Iowa—a district of approximately 650 students. She has served in this role since 2010.
B. Previous professional experience:
1. Middle School Principal, Grundy Center, Iowa. She served in this role from 2008-2010.
2. 4-8 Principal and Director of School Improvement at AGWSR school district in Ackley, Iowa from 2000-2008.
3. Second and Third grade classroom teacher at Dike-New Hartford, Dike, Iowa from 1996-1999.

DAVE VERSTEEG

A. Currently serving as superintendent for the Montezuma CSD in Montezuma, Iowa—a district of approximately 550 students. He has served in this role since 2007.
B. Previous professional experience:
1. Middle School Principal, Pella, Iowa from 2000-2007.
2. Assistant High School Principal, Pella CSD, from 1998-2000.
3. Assistant Principal/Activities Director, Weston County School District #1 in Newcastle, Wyoming—from 1994-1998.
4. Activities Director/Teacher/Coach, Custer School District, Custer, SD—from 1986-1994.
5. Teacher/Coach, Parker School District, Parker, SD—from 1980-1986.

Dr. Lonna Anderson

A. Currently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Dunlap Community Unit School District #323, Peoria, IL—a district of approximately 4150 students. She has served in this capacity since 2009.
B. Previous professional experience:
1. Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Oskaloosa CSD, Oskaloosa, Iowa—from 2001-2009.
2. Assistant High School Principal and School Improvement/Success 4 Coordinator, Muscatine, Iowa—from 1999-2001.
3. Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, Central Middle School, Muscatine, Iowa—from 1995-1999.
4. Social Studies Teacher (7th grade), Kenneth White Junior High, Mission, Texas—from 1989-1995.
