Two narrow wins went to the positive columns of PCM’s basketball teams on Tuesday night, as they each escaped with wins over Saydel. The girls were victorious 59 – 54. The Mustangs were down by ten points at intermission, and the game was tied at 54 with a minute left, until clutch free throws down the stretch helped PCM leave with a win. Four Mustangs were in double figures led by Abbi Gilson who bucketed 22 points. The PCM boys came away with 63 – 57 victory. Senior Alex Gustafson of the Eagles had 24 points in the first half to help his team get out to a 36 – 32 lead at halftime, but the Mustangs defense clamped down and only allowed him to score two points the rest of the way. Logan Gillman led the way for PCM with 21 points, and Dillon Bruxvoort had 16. The PCM girls improve to 6 – 4 while the boys are now 8 – 0. Each team faces a stiff test from Nevada next this Friday night.
