Just after 3pm Tuesday, the Pella Police Department responded to a 911 call from the 1000th block of Columbus Street. The victim reported that during an argument, the defendant, Jake A. Brammer of Pella, threw a plate at her. Brammer admitted to officers that he also took her cell phone away, preventing her from contacting the police. The victim had injuries in the form of swelling to the head and redness to the cheeks. The defendant is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Obstruction of Emergency Communication, a Simple Misdemeanor.
