The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams were able to sweep East Union on Friday Night. The Pleasantville girls’ team started the night off with a dominating 61-42 victory to pick up their second straight win. After heading into the locker room with a 36-22 lead, the Trojans never looked back and handed head coach Aaron Fichter his first career road win. Junior Kennedy Core finished the night with 33 points to lead all Trojans in scoring. Pleasantville improves to 3-10 on the season. The Pleasantville boys team was able to take down East Union Friday night, 64-47 to win their fifth straight game. After leading by only five with under a minute to go in the third, the Trojans went on a 5-0 run to end the quarter and eventually pull away in the final eight minutes to get the victory. Although his team won by 17, Head Coach Tom Wilkins knows there is work to do as the season winds down. Pleasantville improves to 9-3 on the season. Both the boys and girls will look to improve their record when they host Clarke-Osceola on Monday night.
