In a big rivalry match-up, Twin Cedars was able to come away with a pair of triumphs over Melcher-Dallas on the hardwood last night. The Sabers’ gals won in a close contest down the stretch, while the boys ran away with their victory, 66 – 32. The game was 41 – 19 at halftime; Saints’ coach, Jim Wells, tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team was getting good looks, but they could not buy a bucket. They shot 4-for-29 from the field in the first half. Chase Wetterling had 14 points for the Saints to lead their scorers, while Dylan Springer scored 20 for the Sabers and Otis Roby added 18. The Saints’ girls drop to 5 – 7, the boys fall to 3 – 8; Twin Cedars’ girls improve to 5 – 7 while the boys have won their fifth straight to move to 8 – 4. Twin Cedars hosts Orient-Macksburg and Melcher-Dallas plays Moulton-Udell on Friday.
