It was a strong debut in 2014 for Pleasantville boys’ basketball, but they came up just short to Nodaway Valley last night, 69 – 61. Coach Tom Wilkins tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team’s inside-out approach they were using with Chad Robbins in the post was working for three quarters, but unfortunately, they stopped using it in the final frame, getting outscored 18 – 9. Trevor Zoss had a game-high 26 points, and Robbins dumped in 11 of his own. Coach Wilkins adds that his team did a great job of breaking the Wolverines’ press, but wishes they would have had a chance to play a game before they faced Nodaway Valley. Pleasantville’s boys drop to 4 – 3 on the season, and they’ll hit the bus for a boys’/girls’ doubleheader with Bedford tonight.
