Twin Cedars Enter Tournament With Confidence, Melcher-Dallas Splits

Twin Cedars wrapped up their last doubleheader before the Bluegrass Conference tournament with a sweep yesterday of Mormon Trail. The girls prevailed in their contest, and the boys won 59 – 44. Both Otis Roby and Dylan Springer scored 18 points, and the Sabers’ post man added 11 rebounds to record a double-double. Melcher-Dallas’ girls came out on top of Diagonal, 45 – 21. It was a balanced night scoring for the Saints, led by Kaylee Houston who had nine. The Saints’ boys were up 41 – 39 after the third quarter, but Diagonal scored 32 fourth period points to win 73 – 52. Chase Wetterling led all Melcher-Dallas scorers with 18 points. The Sabers’ and Saints’ girls improve to 7 – 8; the Saints’ boys fall to 3 – 11, while the Sabers are 11 – 4. The conference tournament starts tonight for Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars.
