Earning the program’s first Iowa Conference championship since the 2009-10 campaign and only the second in the last 20 seasons, the Central men’s basketball team is primed and ready for Buena Vista to make the drive from Storm Lake tonight in the conference tournament semifinals. Central stole a win in Storm Lake back on January 25, 76 – 72, then almost blew a 20-point halftime lead in Pella, but still won 92 – 78 two weeks ago. Coach Craig Douma and the staff have been focused on the team getting their reps in shooting over the last two nights. Tonight’s winner will play either Luther or Dubuque on Saturday in the tournament finals, with a trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament at stake. You can hear this semifinal match-up streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Trevor Castle and George Wares stepping in to do play-by-play duties. Pregame starts at 6:45 p.m. with tip-off at seven.
