Knoxville fell hard to Dallas Center-Grimes in both boys and girls games last night. The girls lost 64-26. The Fillies slammed the door shut with a 21-0 run between the first and second quarters to build a 27-point lead at the half. Meredith Cunningham led Knoxville with 11 points as the Panthers finish the regular season 9-12 and 5-9 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. After leading at the end of the first quarter the boys were subdued by a 15-4 Mustangs run as D-C-G pulled away in the second half 74-48. Coach Jeff Larson used a five in-five out substitution pattern. He told KNIA/KRLS Sports the second unit played pretty well. Nathan Winters led the Panthers with eight points as Knoxville finished the regular season 5-16 and ended Little Hawkeye Conference play at 3-11.
