Five wins out of 21 games does not seem like a great season. However, for the Knoxville boys basketball squad, five wins seems like another universe compared to the winless season last year. Knoxville starts the postseason in class 3A as the third seed in the district playing two seed Centerville, a team that Knoxville beat to stop its 38 game losing streak this season. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Centerville has had a good season and thinks if his “bigs” play well, they have a chance. Those “bigs” that Larson is talking about is Chase Higginbotham and Nathan Winters. In four of the five wins Higgenbotham had scored in double figures, and both have rebounded well. Also, the emergence of freshman Trent Davis has added a spark to the Panthers. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA starting with the pre game at 6:15.
