Dean Snowden, head of the Walmart Disaster Response Team, tells KNIA KRLS News that they hope to reopen the store this weekend after smoke and soot damage from a fire set by two teen boys earlier this week forced its closure. Snowden confirms that there is over a million dollars worth of damage in lost merchandise, in addition to tens of thousands of dollars in sales, per day, that is lost while the store is closed. He says the store must be completely restocked; the grocery inventory had to be thrown out and everything else is going to dealers who re-sell the products. The pharmacy and the optical center were not damaged and both are open.
