Despite the snow, a large crowd came out to support both the Pella and Pella Christian girls’ basketball squads on Thursday. The game was tight early before Pella went on an 18-to-2 run to lead the Dutch to a 51 – 38 win over the Eagles. Jessica Holterhaus had 12 points and Katie Vander Molen added 11 to lead Pella offensively, but the story of the ballgame was rebounding as the Dutch dominated the boards 50-25 in the crosstown contest. Pella Christian was led by Lauren Jungling who had 15 points, and Hannah Beltman who had eight. Up next for the 7-11 Eagles is a trip to Norwalk tonight, while the 12-6 Dutch host Knoxville.
