Despite a 30 point output by senior Troy Lee, the Melcher-Dallas boys fell in their first round district basketball tournament yesterday, 66 – 61 to Seymour. The game was close throughout, says head coach Jim Wells, but his Saints could never quite take complete control of their opponents. Tonight, the Melcher-Dallas girls will face arguably their toughest opponent of the season when they head to Lynnville-Sully for their second round game. With a “nothing-to-lose” mindset, Coach Jon Suntken and his Saints are going to go out and see what happens. Suntken says records mean nothing at this point of the season and they play these games for a reason. The Hawks and Saints will tip-off their playoff contest tonight at seven.
