There are luxuries and…we’ll call them “non-luxuries” to wrestle or compete in Class 3A. One of those advantages is that all teams in Class 3A do not have to compete in the sectional tournament. Pella High finished their regular season with a win over Oskaloosa this past Thursday, and Coach Joe Burch says their focus in practice has been on resting up and recovering. One of those “non-luxuries” mentioned earlier includes having to go up against some of the toughest competition in the state. The Little Dutch are lumped into a district with Iowa City, City High and Iowa City West, Marshalltown, Newton, Oskaloosa, Ottumwa and Cedar Rapids Prairie. Coach Burch says he hopes to get several wrestlers qualified for the state tournament come this Saturday. The Class 3A District 7 tournament is being held at Newton and is scheduled to start at noon.
