Fantastic defense helped the Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball team move above .500 with a win over Seymour on Monday night. The Saints won 60 – 32; Maddie Roland had 12 first half points and finished with 14 total, while Megan Roush scored a game-high 17 off the bench and came up with five steals to help lead the way for Melcher-Dallas. The Saints improve to 10 – 9 on the year and have a big game with Lamoni coming up this Friday night. Twin Cedars is at Grandview Park Baptist for a late-season doubleheader. Oddly enough, Grandview Park Baptist is just about five miles away from the campus of DMACC where Sabers’ star, Brittney Roby, signed to play softball recently. They’ll tip-off tonight at 6:00.
